Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to the most common questions about royalty management, copyright, distribution, and working with MRG MUSIC RECORD GROUP LLC.
MRG MUSIC RECORD GROUP LLC collects eligible royalties generated from supported digital music and video platforms where your content has been distributed or monetized. We track earnings from streaming, downloads, advertising, YouTube monetization, Content ID, and other digital revenue streams. Royalties are collected based on platform reporting, licensing agreements, and the rights associated with each release.
Under our standard royalty management agreement, 70% of eligible net royalty revenue is shared with the client — including artists, record labels, producers, songwriters, and other authorized rights holders. The remaining 30% is retained by MRG for royalty administration, distribution services, technology infrastructure, reporting systems, rights management, and operational expenses.
Royalty payments are processed in accordance with platform reporting schedules and our internal verification procedures. Clients receive detailed royalty statements with each payment, including revenue breakdowns, platform-wise earnings, and payment history. Payment frequency may vary based on the applicable distribution or service agreement.
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a United States copyright law that provides a framework for addressing copyright infringement online. MRG complies with the DMCA by responding to valid copyright infringement notifications, removing infringing content, and maintaining a repeat infringer policy. We also support counter-notification procedures for users who believe content was removed in error.
If you believe your copyrighted work is being used without authorization, you may submit a copyright infringement notification to MRG. Your notice should include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material
- Your contact information
- A statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized
- A statement under penalty of perjury
- Your physical or electronic signature
All copyright complaints are reviewed in accordance with applicable law and company procedures.
